The ActiveStock product arose from a need on MumStuff.co.uk to provide real time stock control. It soon became clear that the solution would be of interest to other Actinic users and so it was packaged into downloadable software.You can follow the history of ActiveStock's development via the the Blog RSS feed page.

Since its release, users have identified different ways of using it and so some custom software and process development has been undertaken. This led to the idea of offering a general service to help small business, particularly ecommerce sites struggling to sort out their IT systems.
